As far as I can tell this is official AC Delco material. Tips for absolutely silent brake operation: 1) Apply a very thin coat of the supplied grease to the edges of the pads where they ride in the clamps and UNDER the pads or between the pads and the back of the brake pads. NOT between caliper and seal. 2) Sand the rotor lightly with coarse sandpaper (150) and wash the rotor with water and dish soap to remove all old grease and a thin layer of old pad material. This creates a new surface for new brake material to deposit on, similar to using new brake discs. In my case it also eliminated what I thought was the cause of my slight squeak when the brakes were cold and wet, some shim and wax getting on the rotors. And of course no grease should get onto the pads or rotors.
