Review on πŸ§€ Stainless Steel Butter Slicer by RSVP Endurance by Brendan Thorpe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good well made crockery

I think this item is a bit overpriced. I thought it contained a saucer like the one in the picture. Obviously not, hence 4 stars. As for the thing itself, it looks good. Pressed metal base with cutting wire in a continuous loop attached to hooks, very similar to a velcro boot. I do not know the material of its construction. If it is tinplate, it may rust. If it's stainless steel, it should last forever. The ears that the user presses on can be their weak point. may fail after a few uses. Using it is pretty easy. Always use a chilled stick of butter. Not frozen. Unroll the butter, leaving the wax paper on the bottom. Place the stick paper side down on the cutting surface. Find the cutter in the middle of the stick and press the item with your ears. It can take considerable force to push the wires through the oil. I'm 180 and had to put all my weight on my ears to get the wires through the stick. Even in this case, it doesn't completely cut through the stick. This is the reason for leaving paper on the bottom. With the paper in place, flip the stick over to have the paper on top. Press down on the surface of the paper to complete the cuts. Assuming the stick is still solid, you should have a plate full of butter pads. Not professional quality, but sufficient for home use.
