I tested this on Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019), Samsung A50, Pixel 3XL, Pixel XL and Custom LineageOS 16.0 (based on Android Pie) on one old Moto Tab. All are compatible. The minimum Android version is 9.0. It also effectively hits the maximum theoretical gigabit speeds in both upload and download, at least on the Pixel 3 XL, which was an unexpected surprise. Older USB3.0 adapters based on the ASIX chipset appear to provide a maximum one-way speed of 300Mbps on the same phone. In fact, it was so high for this adapter that it became clear that the Speedtest.net Android app couldn't reliably test download speeds that quickly because part of the download was completing too quickly! The second speed test via the browser showed the true download speed. Make sure the ethernet cable is also connected to the adapter and working, otherwise simply plugging it into your phone without it will give you the impression that the adapter isn't working. You can tell whether the connection is working by the pop-up symbol in the upper right corner, for example: <->
