Not working - computer cable adapter

I bought this to use with an Android tablet and view the flash drive, it doesn't work with either the tablet or my Android phone, both of which are compatible with one are OTG cables. I have another OTG (different brand) and it works fine but this is 3.0 and this is 2.0. The tablet has a Microport connector, not a C connector, and this cable is the only one I could find from Microport. I contacted Cable Creation, they were very good but totally useless.
