These screws have some great features. First they are marked at the point where they are just beginning to penetrate a four inch (3 1/2 inch) piece of wood. I use them to butt a 2x4 over a thicker board size to another piece of wood and they're great for that. Like all screws, they try to "walk" along the grain, so you need to make sure they're screwed in the right direction/angle or you could end up with a point protruding from your wood. They are long enough that even a slightly wrong angle can cause this (no fault of the screw). Also, use a properly sized T-shaft, not a T-25 that will fit, but the screw strip will meet any resistance. Highly recommended for what they are intended for.
