This is much easier to use than using the pot lid to drain vegetables. BUT you can't specify if you want a right or left hand version so of course I got one which seems to be made for left handers. Before you say it doesn't matter because you can hold the thing from either side of the pan, there are little ridges on one side that keep the colander from slipping off the rim of the pan. I'm right-handed, so in order to hold the pan in my right hand and use it with the bulges on the right side, I have to tilt the pan to the right while holding the colander with my left hand, which is awkward. When I try to use the non-curved side and empty the pot as usual, it's very difficult to keep the strainer from slipping.
