Modular helmets are the best! I ride with an MC in Hawaii and helmets are not required here but my wife started riding with me and she wanted to wear a helmet so I figured I'd buy one too and both with blutooth so we can travel around talk over the intercom. I'm also a musician, so having melodies was appealing. I wasn't sure about the size so I went to my local motorcycle shop and tried on some of these. It depends on the brand, so I bought the TORC T27 in a large size first. If it suited me, I would buy my wife a medium. If a larger size would fit her, I would have bought XL. My beanie size is 7 1/4 and although the large one is a bit loose for me, everything is fine. I bought my wife a medium and tried it on. It's tight for me but perfect for her. The intercom is useless at speeds over 80 km/h. There is too much wind noise to not understand much of what is being said. There is also a VERY loud (unregulated) beep when calling another person on the intercom. The same VERY loud beep sounds when the helmet is turned on or off. At lower speeds, however, the intercom proved to be a good feature. I found the music quality to be poor and almost unusable at higher speeds, such as with the intercom. I paired it with a Motorola Moto X. I didn't like it at all. Shortly after that I got a Samsung Galaxy and it made a big difference. The volume is now quite loud even at high speeds and the sound quality has also improved. Ventilation is good, and you can even open the clear visor a bit to add more airflow. My helmet stays open a little, but my wife doesn't. Mine is a little difficult to close, but my wife's helmet's clear visor snaps into place. It probably works correctly. We both love the tinted inner visor. Another review said the mechanism was difficult to use, but neither my wife nor I had any problems with it. The chin strap is very thin and twists easily when putting on the helmet. Maybe it gets harder with age. The chin strap buckles also tend to rotate out of position. You learn to deal with both, but sometimes you get frustrated. I like the fact that there is a latch at the end of the chin strap to keep the end of the trailer from banging in the face in strong crosswinds. Two small latches inside the helmet can be easily released. There's a piece of wind and a bug that sits under your chin. Reach out to scratch the itch and it will most likely pop up. Holding the helmet by the chin does the same. As you get used to finding the lever to open the modular part of the helmet, pulling back too hard will also cause the chin bar to come loose. There is also a rubber pad that covers the mouth and nose. Again, trying to scratch the itch will tear it out of your hands. Battery life is good. It looks good. The weight is fairly light and overall I like it although I have pointed out some issues with the helmet and so has my wife. You learn to work around weaknesses. Even if that means upgrading your phone to get more out of the sound system.
