Okay, I'm NOT going to use this for PC. I'm going to use it for a car audio project for my car so I bought 2 of these kits because I liked the idea of a separate RGB remote to control RGB lighting color and modes. The SATA cable can be cut off and used to connect 12v fans to something like the SMD TM-1 temperature meter which can turn on the fans when a certain temperature is detected, like in a PC but with an eye on Car Audio Amplifier. Fan speed low-medium-high. The other two wires are + and - for the 5V RGB lighting power connector and need to be connected to a 12V to 5V step-down converter that will be installed at the spare tire location. The 3 fans push the air in and the other 3 fans push the air out of the amp rack. A few things to mention as I had previous experience with this brand. DO NOT connect more than 3 RGB fans to a 10 fan power supply. The unit could NOT handle 6 fans, the board caught fire and the LEDs burned out on 5 of the 6 fans.2. DO NOT PUSH more than 5 volts 3 amps of current as anything else will fry the board, even 6 volts 1 amp will kill the RGB LEDs so please don't do this! Stick to 5 volts at 1 amp for 2 amps or 3 amps for MAX!3. Fan speeds can range from 7 volts = low with little noise, 9 volts = medium with almost no noise, and 12 volts = high speed with no fan clicking or thumping, anything below 7 volts for high speed fans when this is happening. When not used on a PC like me, it results in very poor performance as the fans stutter when moving and also make clicking/rattling noises. To turn them on without a PC as shown in my picture I cut a 4 wire sata cable and split the 12 volt fan wires and 5 volt RGB wires. I then used a universal 12 volt 2 amp home adapter to power the fans I used another universal power supply that can output 3 amps at any voltage from 1.5 volts to 12 volts, so I have I set it to 5 volts and it turned on the RGB lighting with no issues. As for the remote controller, 1 remote controller can control both control boxes as long as they stand side by side, or you can separate the control boxes and use 1 or both remote controllers to change RGB color and lighting modes. I'm glad every comp like this made such an amazing product at a very reasonable price. Although I would have preferred to use Corsair RGB fans, none of their control boxes would have worked for my particular application since computer software is required to control the RGB lighting. Although I had a bad experience with the first set I bought and returned due to a control box failure due to overloading, overall I'm glad I gave the brand another try and bought 2 full sets of 3 fans with 2 separate controls have. They worked great with only 3 fans per control box. I hope my review was helpful to you.
