I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews when the product clearly says you must have the same voltage is coming as light out. If you had an MR16 bulb then you obviously have a transformer that steps down the main light voltage from 110V to 12V. You need 110v for GU10 bulbs no matter how many watts they draw. Which solution? Remove the transformer! They will do this and then revert back to the original 110v supplied by the house. To be on the safe side, switch off the lighting with the mains switches and the light switch in the room. I was lucky and didn't have to trim the ceiling as I had access to the attic which has no floors so I had easy access to the light base. You may have to cut through the ceiling next to the light to get the transformer and then connect the wires to the mr16 base. With some, you may have a source voltage in excess of 110V, which means you'll have to replace whatever transformer you have with a reducer to get to 110V. You need to know your source voltage, and only then can you find the right solution. If your headlights explode in front of your eyes, then you have too much excitement. If it doesn't turn on, then you're short. In the best case, you have too little and your original power supply is 110 V. On it you need to remove the transformer and connect the wires directly to the base. This is the only way to convert from MP16 GU5.3 to GU10. So it has nothing to do with this product and it hurts to do so. If you don't want to mess around with electricity or hire people, get some light strips. BTW I did this for my Philips Hue bulbs because they only offer gu10 for color and I have a me16 base for lighting the whole house. If you have a lamp, you will most likely have to remove the transformer and connect it to the plug. I had to figure it out myself, but then I realized the solution was in the descriptions. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, study transformers, get a voltmeter and watch a video about light cables and you'll be fine. I hope this helped. The product is good.
