Review on WIX Filters 33960 Fuel/Water Separator - Heavy Duty Spin On, 1-Pack by Dusty Oner

Great filter! I advise!

I don't know where all the fuss about the plastic it's made of comes from. I have a second plastic and I don't care. I tried using a cheaper metal filter from a local auto parts store and it didn't fit. I struggled with this for about an hour thinking the problem was on my side. Due to its shape, I had to swap this and the metal filter through the passenger wheel housing, it was not easily accessible from above. After that fight I bought a WIX 33960 (I have a 2003 Duramax with LB7) and it fit perfectly. As you can see in the picture, the WIX filter tapers a bit at one end, which I think helps with the fit. Well, the plastic filter works. I haven't had any leaks on them and I change them every 20,000 miles or so. Some complain that it's easy to twist the WIF sensor or filter yourself - I've had no problems. Everything went perfectly. Make sure you replace the o-rings on each end as I noticed they cracked a little with each change. (New o-rings are included with this filter) WIX 33960 runs through the mess at the top of the engine bay so it takes me about 15 minutes to change the filter. from start to finish, with refilling of the system. I don't fill the filter with fuel before reinstalling it, which requires a bit more refilling work, but I also make very little mess. You also can't beat Revain's price for this filter. I believe it's about $20 cheaper than my local auto parts store and comes for free.
