Simple protection, no lost rivets.
They were installed on my Jeep TJ because I wanted to easily manipulate the safety pins when everything was covered in mud or wet and I didn't want to mess with knobs that were crap filled and didn't work. They're easy to put on and the lacing keeps the cleat from getting lost on the road. They do exactly what I want them to do, keep the hood closed.
