I'm 5'11", 165 pounds, slightly fatter than average on the hips. The big ones fit me perfectly. I took them on a 10 mile ride yesterday and they felt great! They didn't move an inch. They didn't build up behind my knee either. I fell once and would have scraped my leg, but it saved my skin. Although they were a little warm, it was pretty bearable (it was 80 feet outside). I would buy again. Edit: Don't buy if you live in a cold or temperate climate. The padding material cures at 70f and becomes hard and doesn't fit your knee. This causes friction and discomfort on the sides of the kneecaps!
