I'm 5'11", 165 pounds, slightly fatter than average on the hips. The big ones fit me perfectly. I took them on a 10 mile ride yesterday and they felt great! They didn't move an inch. They didn't build up behind my knee either. I fell once and would have scraped my leg, but it saved my skin. Although they were a little warm, it was pretty bearable (it was 80 feet outside). I really like that these knee pads stay in place while riding and are quite comfortable. You hardly notice them when driving. I would give that five stars but the fit isn't great. I ordered X-Large according to the size chart. I was right at the maximum size in the table. Now I don't have legs like a bodybuilding champion, but my calves and thighs are by no means small. My first pair of knee pads. Excellent coverage and comprehensive protection. I tend to hit and bruise my knees especially the insides, top tube and sometimes the stem when doing rock climbing etc. This has completely solved those issues for me. Of all the falls I've had, I've never gotten up with knee pain, so I'm probably doing my job there as well. One of my problems is that at low temperatures, not even low, just moderate, the pads become very stiff and tend to curl inwards. If I put them on
