Review on 🚵 7iDP Sam Hill Knee Pads: Ultimate Protection for Mountain Biking and Action Sports by Jesus Gallagher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfort, great protection

My first pair of knee pads. Excellent coverage and comprehensive protection. I tend to hit and bruise my knees especially the insides, top tube and sometimes the stem when doing rock climbing etc. This has completely solved those issues for me. Of all the falls I've had, I've never gotten up with knee pain, so I'm probably doing my job there as well. One of my problems is that at low temperatures, not even low, just moderate, the pads become very stiff and tend to curl inwards. If I put them on without heat and then massage them into the right shape, I get friction blisters. It hurts but 7idp customer service said they would send me replacement pads and I haven't accepted their offer yet because I'm lazy and forgetful and love riding my mountain bike. The other issue is that the stretch fabric tears pretty easily and now I have holes in the material where my ballet flats pierce my calf when I step on the pedal. You should also wear them on your skin to keep them from falling asleep. I tried putting them on from the bottom of the spats and it all fell down. So now just knee pads, then suede, then shorts and cool pedals so the 20 degree wind doesn't freeze your shins! All of this and I would buy them again. I just wish they would fix that stiffness in cold weather and maybe I'll switch to non-contact or just keep my feet in better contact with the pedals.

Pros
  • ALL DAY COMFORT
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
