Review on Pelican 1510 Case With Foam (OD Green) by Sheila Vaughn

After 8 years of use I can tell you this is the most durable case I have ever had. I have 3 of these and I scratch them all over (literally). well, just make them the prettiest ones ;). I can't recommend it highly enough. I use it as a kick, seat and apple crate. I've done movies, shot music videos and commercials. in the desert, in the snow, on the beach and everywhere in between. As a negative I would like to say that if you plan to use it as regular luggage it can be heavy (compared to a regular suitcase) and there may not be much space. I think it's 10 or 15 liters (of course you can buy different sizes). But if you want luggage that you can probably walk up "Niagara Falls" with and pick it up at the base of the falls, all intact and dry, this is it. I use the one with the spacer, it should be cables, plates, spare batteries, screws, filters, tape. everything that doesn't need so much foam. Use the foam as directed (to protect your gear) and you'll do just fine in almost any possible situation/fall you can think of. I certainly don't drop my expensive gear unless it's necessary. But since I'm in the Pelican shell (with all that foam) I'm not too concerned if that happens to fall a few feet. way maintenance. After 8 years I just (last month) put some silicone grease on the o-ring, it wasn't really necessary but just wanted to prevent it from cracking over the years. The main reason I added silicone is because I bought it for something else and was looking for excuses to use it.
