Review on Optimize Suspension Performance with KYB SB129 Strut Boot by Payton Stovall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It does what it's supposed to do

It was mounted on a 2001 Qx4 rack. rack body. The fender is designed to protect the car and strut from damage in the event of a "failure" which can occur if your strut bursts (i.e. there is a leak or something inside the strut breaks). and can no longer cushion your car) or you drive over a horrible bump or hole. I personally have never thrown one of my cars out of medium to normal traffic. You should replace your suspension soon at the first sign of sag under normal loading anyway to avoid catastrophic failure of your rack. ok But damn it, I've never seen a dust cover break on a rack assembly anyway. Almost every car I've looked at has the trunk drying out and cracking so it can actually protect it for the first few years of its life, and sooner or later it's going to dry out and crack. Although that doesn't mean it's of poor quality. It's just what happens. However, I only gave this a 4 star rating because it really is a low maintenance item. If you need it, get it. If you don't care and plan on using the "old" boot, go for it. In my personal non-mechanical opinion, using old or new shouldn't make much of a difference if you're just doing regular within-town commuting. If you love off-road, you've probably had better suspension parts.

  • Slim design
Cons
