No, buy the official cable

UPDATE: I was out of town to interview elderly family members with my GoPro and lo and behold, this cable broke while I was filming. It resonated in the GoPro and squeaked. Went and bought the official cable and no problem. DO NOT BUY. ------------- This cable does exactly what it takes without paying for an official GoPro product. Works great on my Hero4 setup and am very happy with it. Highly recommended.

Pros

CLEAR AND LISTENING SOUND instead. It provides secure audio recording by connecting an external microphone to a 3-pin 3.5mm jack on a compatible camera model. Get more compressed sounds with focused audio.

if You’re buying to add an external mic for you GoPro this adapter does not work.
