Review on ๐Ÿถ Medium Dog Wheelchair 40-60lbs - Best Friend Mobility Dog Wheelchair by Karen Watson

Mobile again.YEAH! The best in clothing and accessories

I've had a dog wheelchair for about 2 months now. I wanted to wait until my dog had used it for a while before leaving a review. I agree with the other reviews when it comes to this product. The quality is low for the price, the directions are terrible, typographical as is the website and I couldn't find a video on their website or the internet on the best way to get my dog in and out. . However, my dog loves it. It had trouble unpacking, the instructions were unclear, and when I took it out, assembled it, and put my dog in it, it fell through. Everything was tight, but I found I needed a spacer for one of the screws that just wasn't long enough to hold the leg straps in place once it was in. Not a fun experience for me or her. I called customer service at 6pm Arizona time, they called me the next day and emailed me. I will say that their customer service was very, very good and helpful. They responded immediately via phone and email, although I resolved the issue myself. Excellent customer service. As for the product, I recommend turning the seat belt piece upside down as instructed for placement. I have found that the clip on harness with the red strap that goes up and secures over my dog's shoulder makes it much easier for him to get in and out of the wheelchair. I have a 55 lb dog, she had a hard time adjusting when her legs were up and she was moving backwards in stirrups, which was corrected by putting a pair of booties on her hind legs and letting her hind legs hang down . for a while until it becomes more comfortable. I've since put one of my hind legs in the stirrup and it's fine. If your dog's hind legs are not in stirrups and are dragging on the ground, purchase a pair of boots to protect your feet. alone, without parents, even in the dog park. The shoes will fall off, so keep an eye on your dog in the wheelchair so you can find the shoes. She's not always there, only when we go for a walk, once in the morning and once in the evening, no longer than 60-90 minutes each time. We have been working up to this point. Start slowly, maybe 15 minutes for each walk for a few days and so on, this is uncomfortable and will take time for certain muscles to adjust to the new position. Maybe she needs a little encouragement the first few times. Luckily her front legs are strong and help her get around the house, but with this wheelchair she's enjoying going to the dog park with my other dogs again. Give your dog time, small dogs can handle this much easier than large dogs as they have a reduced sense of gravity. She was knocked out twice: once when a dog ran into her and once when a dog didn't like the chair. Do not leave your dog unattended as he will need your help to pick up the chair if he falls in. Always carry spares and tools as you can undo the screws with a flick of the wrist and other than that it's light, fits in my trunk although it won't fall apart, it's easy to clean and she's learned to potty without to put something on. In fact, she can walk quite well in it. It gave her mobility back and we are all very happy about that. I definitely recommend it. **UPDATE** After three months of twice daily use, one of the hollow side rails that folds down very easily broke. There's no way to fix it, so I got another side rail that wasn't broken. , at Home Depot and told a very helpful person that I needed to replace the part. Now I have two strong side rails and larger pieces that hold the straps in place for less than $20 and it's off again. I had to do the side rails myself, but it was worth seeing her move straight again. **UPDATE** 05/29/2014: After 9 months: both side rails replaced, one tire replaced, one seat belt ripped. So the side was replaced with Niropen wiring, the connector for the wheel and the carriage itself eventually fell apart and was beyond repair. Many thanks to HD for help finding the right parts. If your dog is around 60 pounds and is careful with the cart, I would recommend a 40-60 pound cart. My dog used to go off the road every chance we got so we had to go to another cart manufacturer.
