Review on πŸš€ Spectre Performance Air Intake Kit: Boost Horsepower & Torque in Your 2011-2014 FORD F150 (SPE-9976) by Frank Mayes

There are some oddities, but it gets the job done.

I've never seen the point of spending $3-500 on CAI. Also, most cars have air entering from outside the engine compartment. I decided I should try one and this one cost what I was willing to pay for very minimal gain, if any. During installation I noticed that the metal box that houses the filter is just a loose fit and doesn't seal anything against the bottom of the factory airbox (which makes no sense to me). So I took some sticky weatherproof foam and cut it to fit the factory airbox. I also put something over the holes that the clips go through to hold it. In addition, the PCV valve flange must inevitably be slightly inclined towards the driver and slightly flared. It was a great pain to get him to sit. I can try to build a lid for it so that it is completely isolated from the outside air, but that's for later. I don't feel any difference in performance, except maybe a very small jump in throttle response. If you are looking for great success, don't buy the appointment because you think it will make a big difference. IMO Specter can greatly improve on this design without much additional cost.
