The description on the website does not include the fine print that you will find in the product manual. The remote control can be operated at a distance of almost 20 feet, but it must be clear of obstacles. I wanted to use it as a light source near my office but closing the door rendered it useless. There is only about 4-5 feet of clear space but I would have to get up, open the door and point at the puck to change the light. This is useless and the website description is not accurate enough to convey this limitation.
