I used this set to trim my hair. I have curly hair, medium length hair. I'm not a professional and this was my first time cutting my own hair. My hair is great and I've had a lot of compliments. Welcome tutorial videos on YouTube. Anyway, the scissors work fine. I didn't use thinning scissors, I wasn't trying to lose volume, just creating more volume. I also didn't use a razor comb because I honestly don't know how to use one effectively, so I played it safe and just avoided using them. Some reviews say the scissors aren't too sharp. They're definitely not the sharpest, but they do the job, and I even accidentally cut my hand, again, I'm not a pro. The combs that come with the kit are terrible. If you're buying this because it comes with a ton of stuff, don't. The crests are thin and rough. Even when my hair was damp, knotted, and covered in leave-in conditioner, I could feel the brush tugging at my hair roughly. The clips are fine. They work well, but sometimes they pull your hair. I mean you get what you pay for. I recommend just getting some really good scissors from another seller and getting $1 combs at the store or using what you have at home. You might find even better clips.
