I bought this strainer because it is made of nylon and not the stainless steel that I use to make kefir. This filter is great for that! It is very easy to use and clean. I like my kefir to have little bits of milk in it that I can squeeze down with a spoon and this makes it a thick form which improves the consistency of my kefir. This also allows me to see the smaller kefir grains forming and easily transfer them to my new batch. It is not as durable as stainless steel due to the material it is made of. In general I am satisfied with the purchase, it works as it should.
