The needle in the kit broke a few minutes after starting the first part. It was matte and did not easily go through more than one layer of felt. The parts were already pre-cut. Each sweater is individually wrapped, which is very convenient as small pieces of felt do not get lost. The quality of the supplied thread is satisfactory. I found it difficult to thread the needle with multiple threads compared to other brands. I have made several Bucilla brand felts and their threads and needles are much better. I have never had a needle break with a Bucilla product. Personally, I will not buy any other Dimension branded product. Overall, I think the Bucilla brand is much better. However, Dimension seems to have the best price. So if you're on a budget, Dimension has some really cute sets. I just recommend getting an embroidery needle and a good needle threader from a craft store to save yourself some frustration.
