Review on 📀 Half-Height Internal DVDRW White Bulk - 16X with 2MB(MAX) Buffer Size, Atapi/e-IDE by Joe Garczynski

This was an amazing purchase for less than $40. It is suggested to make it the main drive and all existing drives as slaves, but circumstances decided for me that this would be my secondary (slave) drive on the second channel. As a result, access is probably slower than usual, but not very slow at all. Switching over to my old, dead CD-RW drive should have only taken a few minutes if I wasn't having cable and screw issues, but within minutes of plugging in the Lite-ON I was loading software, playing a DVD, and burning a CD. And all this with LESS recommended power. I have a 1.05GHz computer and a 1.4GHz processor is recommended. My guess is that I can't burn dual layer DVDs as such and maybe burning single layer DVDs is out of the question (I don't know, MAYBE it will just be slow). But CDs are my main concern. and he did everything i needed. This CD comes with the Nero burning software. I previously had Adaptec/Roxio and the software change takes some getting used to. In fact, some Nero programs won't even start loading if you still have remnants of the old burning software on your system. Luckily, the Nero website ( [.] ) has free cleaning tools that you can download. I have Win ME and not only need to disable all background software (including my firewall) but also do a clean boot to watch some DVDs without problems. I have 756MB of memory, but some high-resolution discs (like Madagascar) wouldn't boot properly (stalled all the time), but black and white Our Gang DVDs worked fine. (Maybe processor speed has something to do with it too.) The bezel (bezel) is replaceable, but so difficult to remove that I left it black in a beige case. That was the only downside (not a big one). I am very impressed with how fast it burns and how quiet it is. Tiger Direct's standard shipping was also incredibly fast (14 hours from order to receipt).
