Review on πŸ” Ultimate EGOMYRON Engraver: Fixed Focus, Eye Protection for Precision Engraving by Michelle Langley

Assembly required

Laser engraver kit for home use. In the box you will receive a finished frame to which you need to attach the casters, straps and legs. You also need to set up and focus the laser. The laser is a shield that shields bystanders from laser radiation from most angles, but should not be viewed without eye protection. The set includes glasses. The laser consumes 20W with an output power of 5W. It can engrave soft objects such as wood, leather or paper. It can cut thin objects like thin softwood or cardboard. The maximum engraving area is 400mm x 400mm = 15.5" x 15.5". The kit also includes a USB stick with free LaserGRBL software and a base board with dial rulers. I find this engraver quite easy to use. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble the kit. I'd built a kit like this before, so I was familiar with the steps, like threading the straps through the pulleys. The main difference between this kit and similar kits is that this kit comes pre assembled with the frame and you also get a base plate. As with similar kits in this price range, the laser assembly must be manually focused by adjusting the height of the laser with hex screws. Overall, this is a good choice for getting started with laser engraving. The laser assembly must be manually focused by adjusting the laser height with the hex screws.
