If you ask 5 people for their opinion on a device, you will get at least 6 opinions. The Phrozen Sonic Mini 4k (SM4k) is no exception. The reason I bought it was mainly the 4k resolution and the fantastic price. I had to return the first one I received because the platform didn't move smoothly along the rail, but there were no such problems when replacing it. I'm not an experienced user, but I've used about 5 liters of resin so far. I've had a few issues here and there, but I'm sure it has more to do with the need to optimize printing conditions and support than the printer itself. However, there are a few factors to consider: - Slight bending of the hand when detaching the FEP film from the screen. This sometimes causes layers to shift, but even with a flexible platform, this happens VERY rarely. The cables inside can block the source of UV radiation. The simple fix is to open up the printer and add zip ties if needed. Support is standard but it seems to me that they are trying. Only available via FB (ugh) - The longevity of the LCD screen is questioned by some users, but I haven't seen any issues so far. Again, I probably don't use it often enough. Now for the pros: - Awesome detail! See photos of my finest prints. - Quietly. - Quickly. Capable of printing with a shutter speed of around 2s. - Reasonable price (when I bought it) - Decent construction. It seems a little flimsy, but it works. I don't think many other printers in this price range are better built. I am satisfied with this printer and do not regret the purchase.
