Great product for container candles

I wanted a large candle in a three wick container for the patio. I don't like most candle scents so I wanted to stick with an unscented product. Realizing that something like this would be very hard to find (or insanely expensive), I read up on how to make my own and decided it was worth a try. I ordered this and a pack of fifty "medium" wicks. I melted this wax in a pot and cereal bowl steamer and poured it into a cheap dollar store flower pot. I am absolutely delighted with the results. The wax melts quickly and cleanly, with a very mild, slightly spicy aroma. It is yellowish when melted but solidifies to a perfect snow-white color. I made a test candle with a small amount of Walmart's Gulf Wax and had serious shrinkage issues when it solidified (leaving a large hole in the center), but the soy wax didn't seem to shrink as much. The interface was smooth and responsive. But the real test came when I lit it for the first time. I get three perfect, clean, even flames from three wicks spaced 2-3 inches apart. They form large melt puddles that eventually coalesce after 30-45 minutes of firing. The flame is stable and strong even in windy conditions. The success is probably due in part to good wicks, but the wax definitely does it. The candle does not give off any noticeable smell (unless you bury your face in it) which was exactly what I wanted. Other. Notes: The wax flakes came in two separate non-sealable 5 lb bags. The packages were in another package that was in the shipping carton. I haven't had the problems with open packages that people have. The £10 price point is amazing at the time of writing this article. It's about the cheapest wax you can find so the quality is amazing. I think I can make beautiful candles for my family for Christmas as they all appreciate the lack of fragrance. All told, I have enough supplies to probably make five large, three-wick candles for less than $30. Like others, this material is probably too soft for freestanding candles. Apologies for the artistic image, that was the only one I had at the time.
