Not bad for the price, recommended for monitor speaker amplification

This is a really decent bluetooth soundbar. Now it is used as the main sound device on my wife's computer. At first I thought the sound was terrible, but it turns out that Windows 7 defaults to headset mode, making it monophonic and as thin as a speakerphone. You must turn off the Doss microphone in your audio devices, then the sound will work in stereo. Again, this was only a problem on Windows 7. When I tried this on my Windows 10 machine, everything worked on the first try. Connecting is pretty easy. As soon as you turn it on, it goes into pairing mode and whatever you try to pair it with, the "Doss Soundbar" just connects and you're done. The controls are simple. There's a mode button, play and pause, and next track and previous track. This is useful if you use it with a mobile phone and the controls even work in Windows Media Player. The buttons respond to every press. The volume control is smooth-running, it doesn't click or pop when adjusting it. The sound quality is actually quite decent. Bass is enough for a full sound. Don't expect a subwoofer-like feel from a small soundbar. The high frequencies are slightly recessed so you don't hear any shrill tones or ear fatigue. My main issue with the sound quality is that it starts to distort/pant at higher volumes. If the speakers could handle the full volume range, it would be an easy 5 stars. Bluetooth mode sounds good, but wired mode is clearer and a little louder. The auxiliary cable that comes with it is quite short, so you may need a longer cable if you want to use it with a computer. In wired mode, the response is instantaneous. In Bluetooth mode, there is a very slight lip sync lag when watching a video. I was pleasantly surprised by the performance in this area. Overall I think this is a good little speaker for a soundbar. I think the price matches the sound quality and functionality. If you have built-in monitor speakers (they're usually terrible) and don't want to spend a lot of money on speakers, they'll serve you well.
