Suitable for my purposes. I don't need stereo. I use this speaker in a mobile setting to allow wildlife research participants to hear the sounds of birds, bats, and other animals. It is related to the iPad mini not having matching speakers. Can't comment on durability, it usually clips to my clothes and hardly ever falls apart. It got wet, but not wet or submerged in water, and it didn't have a noticeable impact on performance. The only thing that confuses me is that it doesn't have an independent volume control. The volume is directly related to the iPad. If I increase the volume on the loudspeaker, the volume on the iPad increases accordingly and vice versa. Output volume is limited by this dependency, so don't expect a pumping sound. Battery life was good, generally longer than the iPad.
