Great SMD Starter Kit! Be careful if you don't know anything about SMD you need to look up the dimensions. There is a small measurement scale on the back of the board to help you use the correct components. A quick Google search will help you. The instructions in combination with the board are quite simple. It may take a bit of re-reading to really understand what's needed, but everything is there except for the component sizes, so I'm only giving 3 stars for that aspect. There are some great practice spots on the back of the board. Practice tinning and beading as the solder runs along pads of different sizes. I would also recommend magnetic glass and some fine tweezers if attempting this without much soldering experience. Actually, I wouldn't recommend this to a novice solderer, but it's great to start with SMD. Are places to check for continuity and lights will scroll around and flash if you got it right. I just connected some wires to pos. And neg. pads and used for 9 volts. worked fine If you have a smaller battery, a lithium ion or lipo cell may be appropriate. Didn't try. They also showed a few additional components. I don't know if they are meant to be attached to the back but they didn't provide any additional components only used one or two components. Generally I would like to see 4-5 additional items plus an attached size chart or link to make this kit perfect. Anyway, in conclusion if you are new to smd this board is great practice. There are several SMD projects and I want to refresh them. Give me back control of soldering.
