Review on STANLEY BC15BS Automatic Maintainer Alternator by Gabriel Elliott

I used it twice and it worked well. The 3rd time it didn't work at all. I called the number on the charger and was told that the charger doesn't know what to do and will not work if the battery you are trying to replace is less than 2.2 volts. Incredibly, what good is a charger that won't charge a dead battery? The last changer served me about 30 years and never failed. Then I made the mistake of giving it to someone else. I should have listened to all the negative reviews but just thought the chargers are a pretty reliable device and I would have bought one of these anyway. Boy was I wrong. Another example where the new is not necessarily better than the old. So 6 hours later I'm stuck at home still waiting for my little battery to get above 2.2 volts so I can use my new charger. Buyers beware, they will never tell you that this piece of junk won't charge a dead battery until you buy it and it's too late.
