Works like a champ!

Works like a champ. I bought 2 Sears chargers and each has given me about 2 years of life. I bought the Black and Decker brand a few years ago. I really liked him. It was smaller than this but I gave it to my brother because he needed it. I just bought this 25 amp battery with a repair tool. At the moment I have restored and charged both cars. The unit comes with an internal fan, which might be a bit noisy for some, but I couldn't hear it since the house and garage are separate. I haven't had a

Solid Construction: Tools & Equipment

Seems to be of solid construction, metal clips, buttons feel good when pressed, more like an analog sensor but should last a while judging by the looks and weight of the judging from the charger, very responsive, limits current based on battery condition, cables are long, you can put them on the ground and still connect to the battery, my battery is in a front mounted pickup, cables are not heavy, but good enough for cars and light pickups if they are long as your battery cables are clean and…

Do not do that! on Tools & Equipment

I'm still trying to figure out if this thing is too smart for its own benefit or if it's just a piece of junk. I'm pretty sure it's the last one. It goes into "floating" mode all the time. I saw other reviews saying the same thing but figured it was just coincidence. It is not. I called Stanley support and they said it was because the battery was less than 3 volts and the charger didn't recognize the battery. This would be an acceptable answer, but the charger is showing battery voltage above…

Battery Healer [defunct - see update]

2 year update: This charger accidentally stopped working a few months ago, didn't light up at all so I suspected it had a blown fuse. I finally got around to taking it apart today and had to disassemble it completely to access the NON-REPLACEABLE fuse (see photos). Who does what with a non-replaceable fuse?! The whole point of a fuse is to have an easily replaceable part that sacrifices itself before something important is damaged. This junk is designed to have to be sent back to the…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Useless features

At first I was a bit concerned if this would work, my problem was that I had a car battery that wasn't completely dead but was reading 5 volts and I really didn't no wish $200 on one to throw other car battery. But I was willing to spend $60 to get it working again. And after 72 grueling hours of repairs and asking if I made the right purchase, checking with a multimeter every 24 hours or so to see if the voltage was rising, to my great surprise the damn thing worked! It went into charge mode…

COMPLETE TRASH! suitable for tools and equipment

I used it twice and it worked well. The 3rd time it didn't work at all. I called the number on the charger and was told that the charger doesn't know what to do and will not work if the battery you are trying to replace is less than 2.2 volts. Incredibly, what good is a charger that won't charge a dead battery? The last changer served me about 30 years and never failed. Then I made the mistake of giving it to someone else. I should have listened to all the negative reviews but just thought the…

Refurbished battery below 3 volts

Only restores one battery so far. My son's car sat for about a month and the battery voltage was below 3 volts. There should be a small electrical leak. This charger and most others will not work below a certain battery voltage so I connected my car battery in parallel to boost the voltage and then started a recovery and then immediately disconnected the battery. Did the repair 3 times. It took about 24 hours each time. It was about 12 volts the first time, about 12.7 volts the second time, and
