All four of my 100mW NRF24 shielded modules are not working. I have successfully used nrf24 in many of my Arduino projects. I replaced the existing nrf24 with this to extend the range but ended up having nothing but problems. After many hours of troubleshooting I get the device to send every now and then. If you are familiar with the nrf24 libraries, there are a few lines of code that you can use to determine if an nrf24 is connected and if it is a real nrf24. All of my other nrf24s pass both tests, but with this shielded unit the Arduino thinks the radio isn't connected. After further research I found an article on the internet that someone is having the same problem with the same devices. It turns out that there are small 1kΞ© resistors between the input pins and the nrf24 block that need to be removed. I tried one of them but I ended up wrecking the device because the surface mount components were completely destroyed and I couldn't remove them with my soldering station. Inside the device, however, I noticed the excellent workmanship. I have observed the device in comparison to other nrf24 devices and their signals round off no more and no less than others. However, I've noticed a MISO pin on the output of my working nrf24 and on this shielded device it's a high signal only. My advice is to avoid a 100mw shielded unit and buy one of the exposed black blocks. Both contain the same components inside, except that there are no resistors in unshielded amplifiers. I will protect the exposed blocks myself with a layer of tape and aluminum foil. I hope that the manufacturer solves this problem, because shielded devices have a lot of potential.
