Review on Titan Dice Polyhedral Roleplaying Accessories by Jacolbe Mind

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I played with them and I would say I won!

I don't normally buy a product that hasn't been rated, let alone a gift. But gosh, I'm glad I took the risk with this set: they are amazing! I suppose as the first reviewer it would be helpful to write a fairly thorough (ridiculously long) review, but to sum it all up I'm very happy with these dice and they would be a great buy for almost anyone. As stated in the product description, these cubes are 25mm. For reference, your average set of D&D dice is 16mm. It doesn't seem like a huge size difference on paper, but these things are actually huge! The first two images show d20 and d4 alongside their standard sized Chessex counterparts, and you can see that Nyx is about twice the size! If you're looking for a set of large dice, you've found them. Described as "smoky black with gold engravings," they are generally fairly accurate. However, "black" is more of a very, VERY dark blue-green and shimmers - absolutely gorgeous. it's more of a real gold, maybe green gold, and goes very well with the base color of the dice. I think this point is very obvious, but just to clarify, they are referred to as "SEVEN STONES" in the description. ", but they're not literally made of stone. I'm not very good at how dice are made, but I'd guess they're made of resin or plastic just by comparing them to the Chessex dice I've used But the size alone makes them heavy enough to produce an amazing "thump" that's oddly pleasing to hear. They're also said to channel the Greek goddess of the night, which I'm afraid I can neither confirm nor deny. But they weigh perfectly and are balanced distribution of roles on each of the dice, but maybe the manufacturer could add some certification for the boon they add for channeling, you know, just in case ;) Wooden box with these dice in two Words, super cool! The recessed design is nice, crisp and detailed, but what really impresses me is that the sunroof fits amazingly snugly - hold Holding the box upright and shaking it slightly, moves the lid does not move at all, but also opens smoothly. by giving it a sudden jerk or, you know, by hand. I'm not exactly sure what wood it's made of, but my relative believes it's some form of pine. It appears to be built from either real thin sheets of wood or decent quality plywood. Either way you get exactly the box advertised and it's a good box. What impresses me most about these bones are the faces themselves. The description says absolutely nothing about them, but after comparing the faces a bit, I realized that the drawings on the faces (except for the numbers themselves) are unique are. There are similar ones, but each has its own design. And the designs are honestly better and more complex than the pictures show. think this is for you. After all that praise, however, they're not the best in terms of paintwork per se. The color is uneven - some parts of the faces are covered with a nice, apparently golden layer, but other parts are thin enough to be somewhat transparent. There are also some paint stains that aren't where they should be and some stains affect the visibility of the numbers a bit. This can be seen in the third and fourth images, with the fourth being the "most serious" point on one of the cubes. I don't mind any of this as I can easily remove the excess, I just have a ton of paint lying around and I've always wanted to draw bones. To me, this is a minor flaw for which you can only lose half a star, but if you only buy bones for pre-painted faces, this is not for you. The only other problems I could find. were on d4 with a box and a few faces. The box is too short to hold the entire set and each bone rests fully on the floor. However, they all fit in quite easily, even if not so "perfectly". The two sides of the d4 have a design that is slightly off-center. This doesn't affect readability and only seems to be an issue on d4, but is worth noting. All of these issues are extremely minor to me, and neither will it bother the person they go to. But since it's a manufacturing defect, I have to deduct a star for it. Overall, my biggest criticism of the Nyx set is that I didn't buy it for myself! The color is great, the decorations are great and the box doesn't feel like a cheap addition! I am a happy customer and the person they are intended for will love them!
