Like many people here I tossed between this Sigma 24-70 2.8 and Canon 24-70 2.8L and 24-105 f4 L after using this lens before committing to this lens purchase felt a little good. I'm so glad I did! This lens is very durable, well built, focuses very quickly and accurately, and is half the price of a cannon. I tested this lens with my friend's Canon L and also I can't tell you the difference between the two photos in terms of color and contrast and we both agreed that the Sigma appeared sharper and the bokeh with the 9 blade aperture was beautiful. Sigma has a winner with this one. If you're on a budget and want Canon to have a red stripe, you won't be disappointed. If you're willing to pay half and deliver the same quality, you can't go wrong with this lens. I am so happy with this Sigma lens that I am going to buy a 70-200 2.8 OS lens next week.
