WBCL outperforms Precious Clumping Litter

From a stand alone, peerless standpoint, this litter is pretty decent. For a family with a cat, a bag is of great importance. Half of the bag went into the VERY large Catit Jumbo Hooded Litter Box (Link Link) - warm gray and a month later another quarter of the original 28 lb bag was used to refill. **UPDATES FROM** September 2016 my parents' house for a month and the house is much bigger than my apartment. My cat (7 pounds, 1.5 years old) walked a lot more so ate and drank more. Almost the entire bag was used up within a month, there is still 1 week of activity left. So the durability of the litter depends on what my cat eats, which depends on its activity level, and that depends on how much space it has. It stuck to many surfaces and the cat wouldn't use it that way - instead it would defecate on the mat right in front of the box. Apparently she had runny feces at some point in the box and they didn't clump together like the urine did. This was the first time since purchase (3-4 months) that I had to completely empty and refill the box, which honestly isn't bad. ALSO for one of my ransoms the bag was actually opened. I lost a few tablespoons of junk and it was a bit messy, but I just taped the hole up and kept using it. when I go to clean the box. It completely hides the smell of cat urine, but does not hide the smell of cat feces, especially if the cat does not bury them. HOWEVER, the hooded tray won't let me smell it until I clean it, so that's not a problem. There's a lot of dust/powder in there. The dust rises when I go to scoop out the trash and there are a lot of stains on the carpet right at the entrance to the tray. I use a long hallway rug as a garbage mat so floor marks are minimal, but there is a significant amount of debris within 12 inches of the drawer entrance and a thick layer of dust within 2 inches of the drawer entrance. Light dust marks stretch a few feet from the box entrance but none of this landed on my furniture as my cat likes to wipe her paws on the rug/rug near the box. If keeping track of dust stains on furniture is very important to you, and your cat tends not to do the same, consider this. As a first-time cat owner, I had nothing to compare with this pen. . until I was babysitting two of my friends' cats over the weekend. They used two smaller boxes, both filled with Precious Clumping (bound) cat litter Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter, Precious's 40-pound bag clumps just as well and contains significantly less dust, but odor control is appallingly lacking. Even with daily cleaning of the tray, the smell of ammonia with Precious Filler was unbearable. It's also much heavier than WBCL, making it difficult to scoop. The clay in Precious also tends to stick to the sides of the litter box and leave a stain when you try to scrape it off the sides, while the WBCL peels off easily and cleanly. as we had a previous outbreak of the Indian flour moth (which tends to lay its eggs in grain, rice in our case). However, the moths have yet to become established in the litter, which may in part be due to either our cat's insect prey or the chemical conditions of the litter (also known as cat urine). Anyway, this hasn't been a problem so far, although I'll update if anything changes. Overall I think I will continue to use WBCL due to the convenience of clumping litters and my negative experience with clay based litters.
