I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

I needed this device for a working office solely for one purpose - a Wi-Fi signal repeater. The Internet has to be taken from a neighboring building (distance about 50 m) through an external Wi-Fi antenna. Before that, Asus RT-N12 was used as a signal repeater, but there were always problems with it - the connection periodically fell off or the signal disappeared. Asus establishes a dial-up connection with the main access point and emits a signal. In contrast, the WA901ND does not establish a dial-up connection, but simply amplifies the signal and duplicates the access point parameters (set manually). That is, the connection occurs directly with the main access point. In addition to the useless instructions, if someone needs to use the device as a repeater, I'll tell you how it's done. It has "Repeater" and "Universal Repeater" functions. So in the settings you need to select "Universal Repeater", then find the required access point, after which its MAC address is automatically hammered into the settings. After that, in the settings, FULLY duplicate all Wi-Fi settings and Wi-Fi security settings of the main access point, and then reboot the router. After that, everything plows like clockwork. You don't even have to go to the admin panel. In case of breaks, the repeater picks up the signal automatically.

Pros
  • - Wi-Fi implemented at 5+ (Stable signal 4-5 sticks, on the graph of the Internet connection speed test, the drops are minimal) - Powerful standard antennas - Possibility to install external antennas - The presence of a POE adapter so that power can be run over twisted pair
Cons
  • - One Ethernet port. It was necessary to throw a hub to him. - The instructions that come with the kit are completely meager, no good.
