Review on Jabra Optimized Wireless Headset Softphone by Mark Loredo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Comfortable fit, long range and long battery life *** Update July 2019 ***

BATTERY LIFE - I'm on the phone most of the day. I've been using this headset 3-5 times a week for several hours with no problems for about a month. Many days I've been on the phone for more than 8 hours, although I've probably never held the headset on the charger for more than 5-5.5 (hours) without at least 30 minutes on a break. I can't comment on the long-term use of the device at the moment, but the early battery performance was fantastic! COMFORT - One of the most comfortable headsets I have ever worn. Some might prefer two earbuds, but I actually prefer those that only have one. Although I usually put my headphones on the same ear, I can easily switch from one side to the other if needed. SOUND QUALITY - The sound is crisp and clear and the headset has a long range! I can go anywhere in my house, garden and mailbox without affecting or interrupting the audio or sound quality. EASY TO USE - All I had to do was plug it in and my conference caller recognized it automatically - nothing special to install or configure. The headset itself has an easy-to-find mute button right on the earcup, which is handy when you're on the go. (I tend to keep up when I think!). The volume controls are also on the headset, although I have to admit that I never got the volume I wanted the first time around. PORTABILITY - it breaks fairly easily and fits in the original packaging with a little patience, but I don't think it was intended for travel and I'm concerned that disassembling and reassembling the headset might be problematic or it might get damaged in the process Transport. MISC - One thing that might bother some is that there is an intermittent "sound" when muted. I seem to have gotten so used to it that I can't even hear it now. On the one hand, focusing on it can be distracting; On the other hand, it serves as a reminder that the sound is on. The kickstand clearly indicates when you're muted, but you can't tell that just from the headset - a small indicator light would be a nice addition for the future. SUMMARY - I am very happy with the purchase and the price was reasonable. . This is a great little headset and I have recommended it to colleagues. I actually like it so much that I'm considering buying a second one to keep in my alternate office so I don't have to constantly take it apart. But even at a currently fair price, buying a second device might just not be a financially wise choice. ***Update July 2019*** 16 months (give or take) since my first review and I'm back to backing the original 5 stars I gave it overall. I am really very impressed with the battery life and durability of this headset. Compared to a more expensive headset at work, it is much more reliable in terms of sound quality and battery life. And I feel so good! As I mentioned in my first review, I spend several hours a day on my phone and it lingers all the time. I'm still very happy with my purchase and I know the sound quality is good on my part as others have asked for it when they were in the market. I always recommend!
