Easy install 3 control kits

I bought three of these for my three bedrooms which only have one light switch and each room has a Hunter Antero 46" LED brushed nickel ceiling fan. I had to use a fan pull switch, to control the speed of the fan and a light pull circuit to turn the lights off at night to keep the fan on.Not a big deal but I was looking for a simple remote control for a guest visit. This product has been running for over a month flawlessly on a single fan.I was hesitant to install the other two due to timing issues which I will address later.Installation was easy as long as you know enough wiring to install a fan and maybe follow in this one Just drop the instructions. Each control kit was twisted by five supplied with plastic cable connectors. With three control kits installed, I had 15-wire connectors. When I installed three blocks, two of the fifteen wire connectors (13%) came loose where the intermediate metal separated from the outer plastic. I may have twisted too much, but I've never had this problem with other cable connectors. There were pre-wired connectors before I installed these control kits, so I reused them when two failed. What bothered me the most was having three identical remotes that would control three different lights/fans (how would they sync up individually?). I really didn't want a remote control in my boy's bedroom to turn on the light in my girl's bedroom or the third bedroom. Other products had toggle switches on the control box and remote control to sync them up. This product doesn't have this and I'm not sure if it was necessary, but here are my steps to avoid remote control of two lights/fans (take all electrical safety precautions with switches etc. I won't list the steps for switches here): 1) Turn off the wall switch in bedroom 1 and install a universal ceiling fan remote control kit in bedroom 1. Turn on the wall switch and check the remote control buttons for lights and fans. Everything worked for me as advertised, including the sync feature, which can come in handy when needed. 2) Turn off the wall switch in bedroom 2 and install the second set in bedroom 2. Go to the wall switch in bedroom 1 (not the button on the remote) and turn it off. Then turn on the wall switch in bedroom 2 and check the remote control buttons for light and fan. Only bedroom 2 should work. I then went into bedroom 1, turned on the wall switch and checked the remote control. Luckily, both remotes worked for their respective bedrooms. 3) Turn off the wall switch in bedroom 3 and install the third set in bedroom 3. Go to the wall switches in bedrooms 1 and 2 and turn them off. Then turn on the wall switch in bedroom 3 and check the remote control buttons for light and fan. Only bedroom 3 should work. I then went to bedrooms 1 and 2 and turned on their wall lights and checked their remote controls. All three remotes only worked for their rooms. It may have been overkill, and perhaps each remote comes already mapped to its own separate control box from the factory, but I didn't want to mess around and it worked for me. I gave it 5 stars but I was thinking 4 stars in terms of build quality. Both the remote control and the controller are made of plastic, which does not appear to be very durable. The wires from the control box also seem cheap compared to the wires from the fan itself; I understand the different gauges of wire, but I don't know how to describe the differences. The remote comes with a basic wall mount, but pressing the backlight and fan buttons on the remote will switch the remote in the wall mount to the wall. It could be better designed so that the remote doesn't move if you want to press the buttons while the remote is in the wall mount. Five stars overall, maybe four, but it works as advertised and it was very affordable so maybe high. Build quality cannot be expected. Oh, another thing my wife doesn't like is that every time you press the light or fan button on the remote, it beeps on the control box. I personally like the audible feedback that the control unit has received a signal from the remote control. My wife is not; to each his own.
