I bought this. Did NOT expect hardware raid levels, didn't expect to use VROC or AMD Virtual Raid. I at least expected at least 2 disks with software to show up and run in Windows. I bought a similar model and have had a good run with a workstation at work. Used motherboard asus ws z270. However, my personal setup with the ASUS TUF Z170 just didn't have it. My only choices were to restrict which "gen" uses the PCIE port. or set the second PCIE to "auto" or 4x, I assumed 4x 4x4x4x4 was forked but no. it's just a 4x limit. I couldn't even make a floppy disk appear on this map. So a little paperweight with my current system. I didn't plan to upgrade to the next gen, which takes more than a year. I'll just return this and 2 NVME drives and live with my stuff spread across multiple SSDs for a year and buy a new motherboard if I upgrade more than 1 M.2 slot. If you have any of the supported chipsets I can say the build quality is there. It's a damn tank! Heatsink strong enough for the hottest NVME! just keep it in mind. if your chipset is not listed. It has NO side fork. and it will NOT work in most cases.
