no side link

I bought this. Did NOT expect hardware raid levels, didn't expect to use VROC or AMD Virtual Raid. I at least expected at least 2 disks with software to show up and run in Windows. I bought a similar model and have had a good run with a workstation at work. Used motherboard asus ws z270. However, my personal setup with the ASUS TUF Z170 just didn't have it. My only choices were to restrict which "gen" uses the PCIE port. or set the second PCIE to "auto" or 4x, I assumed 4x 4x4x4x4 was forked…

Absolute madness inside

DO I NEED this? no But I have a history of what not to do, and this was no exception. I was blown away by the price and was excited to see what four PCI GEN 4 MP600 NVME drives could do. The answer was a read speed of 20 GB/s. Run an x570 motherboard stuffed into an x16_1 slot for full fanout. You can run this on x4x4 for the record, but you can only use two NVMEs. But what's the point? That's the length and height of any modern high-end GPU, but it fits in a PCIe slot wide. It has a tiny fan…

  • There's something inside

Will not boot for 970 evo plus drives on Asus x299 board

I was previously trying to find out if this product would work in my configuration. According to Intel, only Intel SSDs work. But other SSDs may work. However, you may need a hardware key. You may also not need a hardware key. Asus says you will definitely need a hardware key. but this other guy didn't need him. Nobody says which hardware key you need. why can't they be bought from regular sellers? just random third parties. Maybe you can do without the key, but limit yourself to Raid 0. Do all

  • Decent performance

Only supports 2 NVMES on the X570 card.

I actually have 3 x (1TB Internal Sabrent Rocket NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Extreme Performance SSDs) on this card and only 2 are coming, only one was originally picked up. In BIOS under Embedded Devices Configuration disable 8X mode and set it to "Raid Mode" and the second one will appear. This is a PCIE X570 lane limitation that prevents more than two NVMEs from being accepted. With AMD Threadripper or better, I'm pretty sure that's not the case. Average 2 NVME reads: 6.4 GB/s Peak read: 10.5…

HyperGEN4 PCIe card for Threadripper MOBO

One click in the bios and a 16x PCIe slot becomes 4 x 4x M.2 slots. Everyone is visible to the BIOS and Windows 10. You will get 4 M.2drive headers with heatsinks and stabilized power supply. All 4 are CPU lanes and do not pass through common CPU lanes from the PCH (chipset). This can be a single drive letter in RAID 0 or 4 drive letters as separate drives. 2 M.2 drive slots are available for you in the 8X PCIe slot. On the new board with GEN4 lanes you get a whopping 32 GB of bandwidth per…

  • Expensive but decent

Works with Asus TUF Gaming X570 Plus motherboard. BUT

Contrary to some reviews, I used this board with an Asus TUF Gaming X570 Plus motherboard and it works!1. It worked with 4 NVMEs, but you need to use the PCIEx16_1 slot and set the BIOS for slot 2 to AMD RAID. You can use both PCIE3 and PCIE4 NVME and both will run at their respective speeds. NVME PCIE4 is not downgraded when used with NVME PCIE 3. I tried two PCIE 4 (Samsung 980 Pro 1 and 2TB) and two PCIE 3 (Intel 660P and WD SN550) and everything works fine. Note: To achieve PCIE 4 speed…

Great performance, not the easiest to work with.

This card was recently purchased and installed on my system. I'm running an i9-10900X processor on an Asus Prime x299 Deluxe-ii motherboard. I bought 4 Intel 665p 1TB NVMe drives to boot this card. The performance data from the screenshot was taken immediately after formatting a volume in Windows 10 for the first time. The volume spans all 4 drives in a RAID 0 (striped) configuration. You need a few things to use this card on your system. 1. To be able to use all slots on this expansion card…
