You got caught. It's unique.
Outrageously overpriced because they can. It's just a dumb cable, but if you want to connect GPS to the Nikon D3, you'll have to pay the current price and then another $80 for a Nikon adapter. It's bulky and too long for my needs, but fits securely and does the job.
