I ordered size 150 for my almost 9 year old. She is thin and tall for her age (about 63 pounds). Other comments have mentioned that it's tight and small in the hands. We didn't notice it at all and it feels quite good in the hand. In fact, it's a bit big at the chest, crotch and legs. She will definitely have room to grow in this lion. The shorts are also very long. They go about 1.5 to 2 inches above her knee. In fact, I would have liked them to be a little shorter so they would be more comfortable when doing gymnastics. The colors are cute and bright and she loves glitter. It might be nice to have a smaller size but we'll probably keep it to give it room to grow. If your 9 year old is of average height or slightly taller, a size 150 will likely suit you. We have used the measurements in the photos rather than Revain's size chart which is not accurate for the product. Overall the product is cute and we'll try it out to see how convenient it is.
