I am a speech pathologist working with students in preschool - 6th grade.I don't play this game according to the instructions; instead, I modify it depending on the group of students I have. For my older or higher functioning students, I have them pick a recipe card to copy, as well as a plate and spatula. Then we say "ready, set, go" and it's a race to see who creates their recipe first. This is typically used as a quick reward once they're done with their speech work, and one round lasts less than a minute. For my lower-functioning students, I use it as a listening game. One student is the boss (holding a recipe card), while the other one is the chef. The boss has to tell the chef which pancake goes first, next, next, etc. Good to work on with little ones who are practicing using clear speech or certain sounds, or learning prepositions, (first, last, top, bottom).I'd definitely recommend this to any SLPs out there! Very versatile game!
