Review on 🎧 Monoprice 111567 Amplifier for Desktop Headphones by Shane Miller

I recently purchased this DAC/Amp and it seems to be working fine. The sound quality is noticeably better than what I have on board and it can be a lot louder. I use this with my Superlux HD681 headphones and even with the volume knob turned all the way down there is absolutely no hiss. I hope to upgrade my headphones soon to see how well this amp works with other headphones. The build quality seems solid and I love that it has a switch to toggle between the onboard DAC and the RCA aux input and I'm hoping this allows me to hook up my computer which is on the other side of the room. I would recommend this DAC/amp but be aware this is the first high end DAC I have used. Update 5.3.15: The DAC still works fine and I now have better headphones to use it with. I have 250" Beyerdynamic DT 770s and this DAC/amp complements them well. The sound is very detailed and the amp makes them sound amazing. This amp can take the 770 to a higher level of listening comfort. *IMPORTANT TIP* If you have Windows use, the driver sends a lower overall bitrate to the DAC by default.To fix this, open your audio settings, right click on the DAC, go to the Advanced tab and set the sound quality all the way.Before that I was listening to im Background hiss, similar to the sound of the mainboard.
