Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Iroda Solderpro Cordless Soldering Iron for Hobbyists: A Convenient and Versatile Solution by Brian Delgado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality at a great price.

The general build quality, design and ergonomics of this pistol are top notch, this thing beats its price by far. I have a feeling that I will live in this business for many, many years. I'll definitely update if anything goes wrong. PROs - It saves fuel - Fairly ergonomic - The tip heats up to a soldering temperature on par with higher-end stations - Build quality and finish is excellent - Versatility is excellent, you can wire solder and then heat shrink in one pass without changing the tip , use exhaust tips. The other tips are also good for many things. Cons - Easy learning curve, almost nothing to be honest - Case hinges are stiff but don't feel flimsy - It doesn't cook or clean around the house - You have to be careful to loosen the tip in hard-to-reach places as you might accidentally do something melt. TIPS - Use good quality butane 7x or higher. If your mesh gets clogged in the tips with inferior butane or gets too dirty, you're going to have spatter problems. (IMPORTANT: This method generates a lot of smoke, do it OUTSIDE) You can clean it with injector cleaner and Qtips. Put a few drops on the screen and leave for about 10 minutes, wipe with a cotton swab tip to clean and remove excess solvent, use a flashlight on the soldering gun and burn the solvent on the screen and then put the tip on the soldering iron. Work on low heat for 10-20 minutes, if it does not light up again, use the burner and extinguish. If it continues to splatter after all the solvent has burned off, that means 1 of 3 things. The strainer is still dirty, your butane is not clean enough or you have set it too high.
