Review on πŸ”΅ Pentek 150239 Big Blue Filter Housing by James Crofton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for kitchen and bathroom installs so far

Note no mounting bracket or screws are included and it's heavy enough that you don't have to rely on your pipes (especially with PVC) its weight to wear. Even with copper tubing, it wouldn't be a good idea to put that much force on the tubing when rotating the filter housing to change the filter. There aren't really instructions or hardware, but you will need 5/16" x 1 1/4" screws to get into the 4 mounting posts on the top of the black case. So if you can't find it, use 1 inch. If you get bigger and use 1 1/2 inches, you're going too deep and will break or dig into the ground. My only complaint about it is that the case body has 1 1/2" NPT threads (make sure you use both tape and pipe lube) but the entry/exit is on the bottom where the filter is located , does not look the same (different shape, not round) over the range of this pipe size, so flow restrictions may apply. If this is important to you, consider looking at the 2" filtration system instead.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
