I ordered a Moen cartridge remover to replace the cartridges on my kitchen sink. The remover does not have to be compatible with these cartridges and that was a disappointment. Following the instructions, he grabbed the pole with channel locks and pulled it up. And again and again and again. In the end, after a struggle of maybe ten minutes, if it came out, then at least the top of the cartridge. The bottom of the cartridge broke off and got stuck in the cavity. I tried prying it out with needle nose pliers and kept picking out pieces of the cartridge but I couldn't get the whole thing out. It was easier to assemble an old faucet and install a brand new one than trying to replace that stupid cartridge. On a positive note, the new faucet uses the same P/N cartridges, so I'll be using them here for a "two" in about a decade when they start leaking. I think I might finally give up and get a water softener as the sediment is likely to get stuck in the cartridge.
