I recently replaced the interior lights in my 1987 SeaRay 340 (boat) and replaced the incandescent bulbs (bulb 1157) with LED bulbs as part of the replacement. The on/off switch built into the base of the new light's body was a simple on/off switch and when it was on the LED bulb was WAY too bright for most situations - everyone hated the new bulbs ! :( So, with a slight change to the base of the new light by replacing the original switch with this dimmer, the light is now perfect - "stepless" dimming, and the dimmer will return to its previous brightness level when it is switched off. /on ! :)
