The hammock we received is made of a smooth material so it's easy to clean if it ever gets dirty. I bought it for my rats. They were afraid of it for a long time, but finally they tried it and now they hang around in it all the time! :) I might put a piece of fleece or something like that inside to make it more comfortable and warmer. Luckily, our rats don't like to chew on things, so this should last their whole short lives. I hang wooden chew toys around the hammock so it might have something to do with that. They're probably more interesting and tastier than a hammock lol.
